Annual Conference and AGM April 2024

The BCSBA annual conference and AGM is rapidly approaching. It is to be held in Blenheim, 18-20 April at the Scenic Hotel, Marlborough, 65 Alfred Street, Blenheim.

Registration forms for members were sent out with the December issue of the magazine and are also available in PDF format from the members only page, under the heading Conference Forms & Booklets. Early bird registrations close on 15 March, and all competition entries must be received before 28 March.

Wool and craft enthusiasts are invited to visit the venue on Friday 19 April to buy fleeces from the national and handcraft fleece competitions, view competition entries in the other classes (sheepskins, handcraft and photographs), and hear two speakers: Loretta Sloan – WOW entrant and a well known fibre artist, will speak about her felting creations and inspiration, and Catherine Jane will speak about using the fleece judging card to inform your choice of fleece to purchase. Catherine will also be available to help select your special fleece if required. Starting at 10am, there will be an entry fee of $5 per person which includes tea or coffee. While you are in Blenheim you might also like to visit the Creative Fibre Nelson/Marlborough/Buller area Handworks Exhibition 2024 held at The Marlborough Art Society, High Street Blenheim, which will also be open from 10.30 am – 4.30 pm on that day.
