Prizes donated for Open Class in Handcraft Competition

Class 5 of the BCSBA annual handcraft competition is an open class, allowing entries from non-members as well as members of the BCSBA.

The class in 2024 is for a hand held toy made using 100% natural coloured wool. All entries will be donated to the registered charity Helping Families Nelson.   There will be no entry fee and no limit to the number of entries. Toys can be made using any technique. Hand spun or commercial yarn is allowed, but any felt used must be hand made. Up to 25% overdyeing is allowed.

Thanks to the generosity of two donors, in 2024 there will be a number of additional prizes for this class. Ashford Handicrafts Ltd has donated a $75 voucher for best overall toy. Norham Park Stud has donated $50 each for the best toy (a) using 100% hand spun wool (b) using hand made felt (c) made using any other technique. There will also be two lucky draws of gift packs donated by Jones Family Farm (sheep milk cheeses) and Sabelle Skincare (sheep milk skin care).
