Handwoven with Heart: A Collaborative Effort

A labour of love, this beautiful natural-coloured handwoven woollen scarf was crafted by many hands. The Top of the South (TOTS) Branch showcased their threaded two-shaft weaving loom at the 2024/25 local A&P Shows, attracting a diverse crowd of crafty enthusiasts, sheep owners, and fibre fans. As visitors took turns weaving, the scarf began to take shape, its unique texture reflecting the diverse hands that contributed to its creation. By the end of the show season, the scarf was long enough to be taken off the loom, and TOTS members finished the weaving and gently hand-washed it. The result is a stunning scarf that tells a thousand stories – a testament to the power of community and collaboration. Thank you to everyone who had a ‘hand’ in creating this beautiful piece!
