New rules around tail-docking of sheep in New Zealand
Under their animal welfare regulations, the Ministry of Primary Industries has introduced some new rulings around the tail-docking of sheep in New Zealand.
From 9 May 2021, new rules for how tail-docking sheep under 6 months of age must be carried out come into effect, as does a new ruling that for sheep over 6 months tail-docking must be done by a veterinarian, using pain relief.
