DESCRIPTION:The Mid Canterbury branch is holding a trade stand at the Little River A&P Show to promote our branch and membership. If any members would like to bring knitwear\, yarn or fleeces to sell\, please do so. \nFor our new members there will be a tear drop banner outside our marquee\, where the other trade stalls are situated. Keep a lookout for it and introduce yourselves to our members who will be manning the site. You will be most welcome. \nYou can also view coloured fleeces in the Community Hall after judging (about midday) and coloured sheep will be in the sheep yards across the Western Valley Road. A great day out with lots of activity to see. and the weather is always nice. \nSee you there!

DESCRIPTION:Heather Woods (North Canterbury ) would like some advice on how to use her fleeces. Heather runs a flock of commercial Texals\, some pet Gotlands and Gotland /Valais sheep. It should be an interesting afternoon with our crafters who may have different ideas. Heather’s son also owns the Tiny Homes production site on the property which we may get to have a look at. \nWe will have lunch at the Urban Revival Cafe on Silverstream Boulevard at 12 noon and then travel to Heather’s place which is just around the corner. Georgie Fairless will need to book a table at the cafe so please let her know if you intend to come before Thursday 22nd. She needs names and numbers.

DESCRIPTION:The Mid-Canterbury branch of the BCSBA is hosting an open day with the theme of preparing your fleeces before and after shearing\, and how to look after your precious fleeces once shorn \n\nCrutching your sheep and keeping them clean all year round.\nAvoiding shed stain by yarding your sheep the day before shedding\nSeparate individual fleeces after shearing\, using newspaper\, frost cloth or sheets\nLearn how to skirt\, weigh\, and clean your fleeces ready for showing\, selling or your own crafting.\n\nOur members have a wealth of knowledge\, and will offer hands-on teaching. Find out what a judge or customer is looking for. \nYou may bring up to two of your own up to fleeces to be shown how to handle them.
